Our little stowaway...or at least, she tried. Sweet girl.
Watch out! There's a lot of pictures in this post. But, not having had a vacation with my husband in a LONG time, I'm still understandably excited about it. So, here goes.
Leland took me to
Gorham's Bluff, which is a wonderful little hidden treasure right here in Alabama. It's a 5-star resort in the style of Seaside that happens to sit only about 2 hours away. It has gorgeous views and incredible food, and basically, we loved every second of being there!

This is the view from our room.

I made the beeb pose on the balcony. Our balcony was sweeet.

Ok, I made him pose by the fireplace in our room too. We had the best time sitting and reading and listening to music in front of it. We're a little obsessed with the idea of the bedroom fireplace now. So cozy!

I posed myself in this one. This was my spot for most of the time. And I read The Other Bolyen Girl in front of the stone fireplace - perfect location!

Baby #2 came too. I swear, the bump is SO much bigger than it looks.

Trying really hard to take a picture of ourselves by ourselves.

We went for a walk while the sun was setting. So pretty...

This is the lodge where we stayed.

There was a bookshelf in our room filled with books, and on it sat the 1995-96 Fort Payne High School yearbook. Name that student!!! We laughed so hard.
Anyway, so there you have it. We ate 4-course meals 3 times a day, spent such great time together relaxing, reading, talking. There are no televisions in the rooms at the lodge, which I didn't mind at all. Frankly, just staring at the wall and not having anyone to take care of was the best thing that's happened to me in a long time! Leland's mom stayed with MCM, and took wonderful care of her. MCM handled our separation so well. I think Leland and I missed her more than she missed us! So, we're planning our next trip...maybe for Leland's birthday in April?
