In Utero

A lovely profile. Looks exactly like MCM's ultrasound pics.

Nostril shot and cute little lips. That's about all I can make out in this one.

And for good measure, another super cute little profile. There's a hand in there somewhere too if you can find it. 5 fingers too!

We had our last ultrasound last Monday. Normally, I don't think we would have had one at 35 weeks, but apparently the Doc was concerned that our munchkin might be growing larger than munchkin proportions. Turns out they estimated she was about 6 lbs, 4 oz and growing. MCM was 6 lbs 14 oz at birth, so that gives you a little perspective. This baby may indeed be larger, but hopefully not much more than that. The Doc said everything is healthy and normal. I was about half a centimeter dilated, and that's nothing to write home about at this point. So...we wait.

Today I'm 36 weeks pregnant, and I would be thrilled to go into labor at any moment. I pretty much think about it constantly, although I am trying hard (especially at night) to stop dwelling quite so much. MCM came at 38 weeks, but I'm fully aware this is a different ballgame and I shouldn't get my hopes up too high. I'm relieved that we're out of the danger zone for a too-early birth. This week I recalled all the wonderful ways God orchestrated MCM's birth - perfect timing - allowing everything that needed to take place beforehand to take place and allowing everyone we wanted to be there to be able to be there, etc. I know he will do the same this time. Still, waiting is a killer!

We also had a pretty tough week with MCM. She's been so out of sorts, and it was beginning to sending me into a panic about how she's going to handle a new baby sister, but it turns out she's just been teething 2 new molars. Things have been on the up and up since Thursday, and I'm hoping we can remain on an even keel until baby sister arrives. Please remember us in your prayers as we navigate the next few weeks!

It WAS the teeth! Moms always know, right?
I'm glad MCM is feeling better. Hope this week is a smooth and enjoyable one. And hey, I hope there's a new babe this week too!
